How to analyze customer reviews with AI
Review analysis is useful when it helps you locate repeated problems faster. It should point back to what customers wrote, not replace the source with a vague score.
Group reviews into a useful sample
Use reviews from the same product and time period. Mixing unrelated products can turn real themes into misleading averages.
Look for themes and concrete issues
“Mixed sentiment” is less useful than “customers praise light quality but repeatedly report failed touch controls.” The second result suggests what to investigate.
Protect customer information
Remove names, order numbers, addresses and other identifiers before pasting feedback into any AI tool.
Validate before prioritizing
- Read the most severe complaints in full.
- Count repeated issues in the source data.
- Separate product defects from shipping or support problems.
- Track what was fixed and whether later feedback changes.
